THE SUN
NEVER SETS
Growing up in the Caribbean shaped how I understand color, rhythm, nature, celebration, and community. Living across different cultures expanded that perspective and gave me empathy—the ability to understand people, traditions, and experiences beyond my own. As a designer, I carry these worlds together, using cultural awareness and human connection to create experiences that feel layered, expressive, inclusive, and deeply rooted in identity.
THE NIGHT, THE SUN CAME UP
The sun arrived at midnight,
finding a boy carrying inherited storms
and a fire he was taught to hide.
He crossed oceans chasing light,
only to learn his shadows followed.
Then one night, he turned toward the flame
and understood—
The same hunger that frightened him
had taught him to imagine.
The same darkness he escaped
had taught his eyes
how to find beauty with almost nothing.
Suddenly, the house made sense.
The ocean made sense.
The wanting made sense.
Even the ghosts became shadows—
and shadows, he realized,
can only exist
where there is light.
what haunted him
was also what illuminated him.
He became morning.
The sun had already risen inside him.
